When it is used

  • Designing a renovation or rehabilitation when the original drawings are missing or inaccurate
  • Documenting cultural heritage monuments and research for restoration
  • Surveying façades, interiors and complex geometry
  • Surveying industrial sites and infrastructure
  • Recording construction progress and as-built conditions

How we work

  1. Assessment

We look at the size and complexity of the site and what you need at the end: a point cloud, drawings or a BIM model.

  2. On-site scanning

The scanner is set up at several positions so the object is covered from every side. Each scan records a 360° view and HDR photos.

  3. Registration and processing

In FARO SCENE we join the scans into one coordinate system, clean out noise and check accuracy.

  4. Delivery

You receive the point cloud in the format you need and, if you want, a link to an online 3D viewer that opens in the browser.

What you get

  • A registered point cloud in E57 or RCP (Autodesk ReCap) format
  • A coloured point cloud from HDR photos
  • An online 3D viewer (Potree) that needs no software install
  • Optionally: 2D drawings, a BIM model or visualisation

Frequently asked questions

How accurate is laser scanning?

The FARO Focus scanner gives millimetre accuracy (±1 mm). Final accuracy also depends on how the scan positions are laid out and on registration quality, which we check during processing.

What format will I receive?

Point clouds are usually delivered as E57 or RCP. Drawings are prepared as DWG and BIM models as Revit RVT files.

How much does 3D scanning cost?

The price depends on the area, the complexity of the site and the deliverables you need. Send us a short description of the site for an exact quote.

Do you work outside Tbilisi?

Yes, we work across Georgia. Our projects include sites in Tbilisi, Batumi, Manglisi, Nagomari and Bolnisi Municipality.
